To fully leverage the regulatory and guiding role of standards in the optometry industry and promote the improvement of the quality and safety level of optometry products, two mandatory national standards in the optometry field were approved and released on December 31, 2024. Namely GB 45184-2024 "Safety Technical Specification for Components of Optometry Products" and GB 45185-2024 "Safety Technical Specification for Finished Glasses of Optometry Products", these two standards will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Meanwhile, to further enhance the coverage and implementation effect of the national standards and the group standards of the China Optical Association, in 2024, a series of standard promotion activities will be jointly held with relevant government departments in major production areas such as Taizhou and Danyang, creating a favorable atmosphere for standardization in the industry.
